MISSION STATEMENT
TERM LIMITS
Our first goal should make the Congress know that we are serious. Term Limits.
If we are for limit terms with an amendment to the Constitution, we should fix some
things at the same time. Thus in the House of Representatives we should limit Congressmen
to two two year terms with elections on odd years so as not to coincide with Presidential elections.
Secondly, make their payroll and expenses a responsibility of their respective States and you
eliminate all of the middle of the night pay raise votes and presumably all of those "fact finding"
trips to the Caribbean during August recess.
As for the Senate, if we repeal the 17th amendment and let the States appoint their own Senators as
they see fit; With the Senate pay roll and expenses the responsibility of their particular States as well.
TORT REFORM
Court Fees should be paid by the loser. This alone may cut the cost of health care by at least 15 percent.
It is time to get the Lawyer lobby out of Washington. This one act would be like American business
getting a 15 percent tax break. It would remove a huge yoke from around the American people.
ELIMINATE SPECIAL PRIVILEDGES OF CONGRESS
No more should a Congressman or Senator be able to have special rights like free parking or special
benefits like health care plans or special retirement plans. When you leave Government service, that's it.
While you're there you pay for any special services that you may need or desire. If the average American
cannot be part of your health plan or gain your retirement benefits then neither should you. You are special
in that you are elected or appointed to office but you are not better than your constituents.
We should forbid the hiring of immediate family, as well, to any staff positions within their
respective offices. One could argue with the country massively in debt because of these folks, they
should be on the short list to lose all of the perks that cost the taxpayers hard earned money.
GET THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OUT OF PRIVATE BUSINESS
PRIVATIZE the post office and any other quasi government-private partnership going. Let the free market
decide what works best.
SPECIAL BILL CONSIDERATIONS
For each 8.5x11 page of legislation/regulation/amendment to a specific bill there will be one full day of
deliberation on the floor before a vote. There is no reason a bill should be 1200 pages unless they do not
want you to see something. Regulations for any law written after the fact would also need to be voted on and
approved by the same standard. We do not need 1500 pages of tax code. Who has read it?
This would almost certainly eliminate Omnibus bills that cram several pieces of legislation together as one.
We need to stop Some things becoming law unrelated to each other on the same bill.
SPECIAL DEBT CONSIDERATIONS
So Long as the nation holds debt, i.e., is in deficit, the salary of all Federal employees to include
the military is cut by 10 percent per year. Salary cuts could be omitted if there was a 10 percent
reduction in total federal employees, call them layoffs if you will, but why should the government
not have to tighten its belt at like any other business hit by financial hardship.
Additionally, all current programs in place will take a 10 percent cut in non salary funding. Laying off
employees will not qualify a program as part of this 10 percent.
This would mean benefits like Social Security, the best Ponzi Scheme ever to come along, would be cut 10
percent. Sorry old folks, but you elected the bums that got you into this mess in the first place.
Federal lands should be sold to make up as much of the debt load as possible. Why should the Federal
government manage these wild areas? Privatize the National Park system. Let free enterprise take over.
ELIMINATE CERTAIN FEDERAL DEPARTMENTS THAT INFRINGE ON THE 10TH AMENDMENT
Eliminate the Department of Agriculture--its role is duplicated at every State
Eliminate the Department of Education--its role is duplicated at every State
Eliminate the Department of Energy--its role is duplicated at every State
Other departments and agencies may be added to this list later.
REPEAL THE 17th AMENDMENT
Return the power of the States to control spending in Congress. Let the States Appoint their representative
to the Senate so as to control out of control spending by Congress.
REPEAL THE 16th AMENDMENT
Eliminate the income tax and we take the biggest toy Congress is using for their Social Engineering.
Payroll taxes go away and personal incomes can go up.
The States will now have to come up with their "Census determined" apportion of the Federal expenses
for any given year.
REFORM OR ELIMINATE THE FEDERAL RESERVE
The "Fed" has facilitated massive deficit spending to the detriment of the country.
It should be reformed or eliminated
America does not need men behind a curtain running our monetary policy
